Early Days and Foundation of Cello World:

Pradeep Rathod was born on January 23, 1965, in Maharashtra.  After completing his education, he inherited the legacy of Cello World from his father. The Company was initially established in the 1960s by his father Ghisulal Rathod. Pradeep’s grandfather was also involved in the bangles business. Pradeep comes from a business-oriented background.

The Company started as a manufacturer of thermoware in Mumbai, focusing on meeting the needs of Indian kitchens. The early years saw the production of small plastic items. He joined the family business in 1982 at the age of just 17. That time the family was navigating through a challenging period when the family underwent separation. He says that was the only incident that impacted him. His father was alone running his business when he joined. In 1986, his father recognised the potential of advertising, and they strategically promoted it as a brand during the airing of Ramayan and Mahabharat, garnering an excellent response from it.

Pradeep Rathod's vision went beyond conventional boundaries. After his father's death, Rathore took the business forward along with his younger brother Pankaj Rathod, who today works as the Joint Managing Director of the Company.

Today, the Company Cello World spans three main categories, offering a wide array of consumer houseware, writing instruments and stationery, and moulded furniture along with related products.

Innovation and Diversification

In the 1980s, Pradeep Rathod's exposure to the global market during a trip to the United States became a pivotal moment. Witnessing the utility of casseroles in preserving the warmth and freshness of food, he decided to introduce this concept to the Indian market. This decision marked the beginning of a new era for Cello World.  Encouraged by the success of Casserole, Cello World launched products in several segments, which were successful. From there he got the name "Casserole King".
